Tetiana Zhuravel – soprano

General information

Tetiana Zhuravel (soprano) graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv. She is a laureate of numerous international competitions: 1st Eva Marton International Singing Competition in Budapest (2014), 1st Virgilijus Noreika International Singing Competition in Vilnius (2017), 6th Solovyanenko International Singing Competition in Donetsk (2013), Grandi Voci Singing Competition in Salzburg (2018).

She began her international opera career with the role of the Queen of the Night from Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Hungarian National Opera in 2016 and has performed this role in many other European theaters: Royal Swedish Opera, Palacio de Bellas Artes de la Reina Sofía in Valencia, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Nacional de Mangaime, Macerata Opera Festival, Lviv National Opera. Her repertoire also includes roles such as Donna Anna and Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart), Violetta Valéry in La Traviata (Verdi), Rosina in The Barber of Seville (Rossini), Olympia in The Tales of Hoffmann (Offenbach), and Belinda in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), among others.

She has collaborated with the Royal Opera House in London, the Opéra de Nice, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Graz Opera, theaters in Cagliari and Trieste, Open Opera Ukraine in Kyiv, the Tulchyn Opera Festival, and more.

Her repertoire also includes contemporary music: she performed the role of María Sierva in Love and Other Demons and The Girl in Sleepless by Peter Eötvös, as well as the soprano solo in Requiem by György Ligeti with the Belgian National Orchestra and the Hungarian National Choir in Brussels. She also took part in the world premiere of the Ukrainian oratorio Vyriy by Oleksandr Shymko in Wrocław.

Her current season includes performances in Düsseldorf (Queen of the Night) and her debut as Cunegonde in Leonard Bernstein’s Candide in Bologna and Trieste, Italy.
