Avishay Shalom (Israel)

Avishay Shalom 
A native of Israel, Currently Munich based, Avishay Shalom is a DMA student in orchestral conducting at the College-Conservatory of Music University of Cincinnati under the tutelage of Maestro Mark Gibson. Shalom completed his Master’s degree at CCM after a Bachelor’s degree at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Between the years 2015-2017 Shalom served as the conductor for the Graduate studio opera at the College Conservatory of Music, where he conducted Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino, and Conrad Susa’s Transformations. In Summer 2017 Shalom was assisting Maestro Marcus Bosch at the Heidenheim Opernfestspiele in Wagner’s Die Fliegende holländer and in Verdi’s
Un Giorno di Regno. Shalom is supported by the REC Music Foundation and is assisting in a revival production of Giovanni Pacini’s Niobe. Shalom is a semi-finalist in “Luigi Mancinelli Conducting Competition” in Orvieto, Italy, and a recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation for orchestral conductors.
