Vladyslava Luchenko was born in 1988 in Kyiv, Ukraine. She began studying music at the age of five, first playing the piano and later the violin. From the age of six, she studied at the Kyiv Specialized Music Boarding School named after Mykola Lysenko, in the class of O. A. Buludyan and later Y. H. Rivnyak. During her school years, she achieved remarkable success, winning First Prize at the International Youth Violin Competition named after Y. Kosiyan in the Czech Republic (1997), Fourth Prize at the Kloster Schöntal International Competition in Germany (1998), and Second Prize at the Bohodar Kotorovych Competition in Kharkiv (1999), as well as receiving laureate titles at chamber music competitions. At the same time, she gave her first solo recital at the Lysenko Column Hall of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kyiv and appeared as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and the Variety and Symphony Orchestra. She collaborated with distinguished conductors including Volodymyr Sirenko, Andriy Vlasenko, and Viktor Zdorenko, and began an active international touring career in Switzerland, Poland, and Spain. From 2006 to 2012, she studied at the Zurich University of the Arts in the class of the renowned professor Zakhar Bron. During her studies, she was awarded scholarships from various artistic foundations and participated in major international competitions, including the Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition in Fermo, Italy (Third Prize in 2009 and Second Prize in 2010), and the Rahn Music Prize Competition in Zurich (First Prize, 2010). In the same year, she became the de facto winner of the prestigious Tibor Varga International Violin Competition in Switzerland, receiving Second Prize (with no First Prize awarded), the Audience Prize, and the Prize for the Best Performance of the compulsory work by Béla Bartók. While in Zurich, Vladyslava actively performed in various chamber ensembles and appeared as a soloist with symphony orchestras. After earning her Soloist Diploma in 2012, she continued her studies at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin in the class of Professor Stephan Picard. In 2013, she won the Rotary Club Prize in Lugano, Switzerland. From 2014 to 2018, she pursued the prestigious Artist Diploma program for soloists at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium, where her mentor was the distinguished violinist and conductor Augustin Dumay. During her time in Belgium, Vladyslava collaborated with eminent musicians such as Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Frank Braley, and Miguel da Silva. She performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, the Verbier Festival Orchestra, I Virtuosi Italiani, the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, with which she recorded her debut CD. She also made several recordings for Outhere Records, including works by Édouard Lalo (2015), an anthology of Eugène Ysaÿe, and a live recording of Mozart’s Double Concertos. Her album Progetto Italiano, released by Claves Records in duo with the outstanding Ukrainian-born pianist Khrystia Hudziy, became a hallmark of her artistry, revealing the finest nuances of her interpretative mastery. Since 2018, Vladyslava Luchenko has served as Concertmaster of the Biel/Solothurn Symphony Orchestra in Switzerland. Her artistic portfolio includes numerous performances with orchestras, appearances at international chamber music festivals, and tours in the United States, China, India, Puerto Rico, Poland, Estonia, and other European countries. Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Vladyslava has actively expressed her civic stance through numerous charity concerts, performances of works by Ukrainian composers, and collaborations with Ukrainian musicians and ensembles. The culmination of this artistic partnership came in 2023, when she embarked on a two-month tour across the United States as a soloist with the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Theodore Kuchar.
