In the second half of the tour in the United States of America, the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra was joined by the famous soloist from Lviv, pianist Oksana Rapita.
“I instantly threw myself into such a busy schedule and played three concerts in a row. It’s an extraordinary experience: the halls are beautiful and the audience’s enthusiastic and welcoming – after each first movement, the visitors get up with a standing ovation – it is very inspiring. The listeners are incredibly immersed and supportive,” Oksana Rapita notes.

Under the direction of the principal LNPO conductor Theodore Kuchar, the soloist performs the Piano Concertos by Edward Grieg and Johannes Brahms. Here Oksana Rapita shares her impressions about playing music with the orchestra and its sound quality in general:
“Performing a piece with the orchestra is one of the highest manifests of concert performance. I played many premieres with this orchestra, I also played many regular concerts. However, the orchestra exists, and people change, and the fact is that this formation of the orchestra is very relevant, monolithic. High-quality orchestral work. When I had the opportunity to be either at a concert in Carnegie Hall or in other concert halls, where a symphony orchestra recently performed, I appreciated how well it sounds.”
