The musicological annotation was prepared by Mariam Verdiian. The text provides an overview of Liatoshynsky’s biography and his work on the quartet genre (1914–1944), emphasizing in particular:

“Quartets were among Liatoshynsky’s most frequently performed works outside Ukraine during the composer’s lifetime. This new edition of the string quartets returns an important part of European chamber heritage — of which Ukrainian music and Borys Liatoshynsky’s oeuvre are an inseparable piece — to the global performance repertoire.”

The anthology was published in 2025 by the Kharkiv-based publishing house ASSA in an edition of 300 copies and is intended for free distribution. The collection can be requested by conductors, orchestra and festival managers, musicians, researchers, teachers and students, as well as representatives of cultural institutions and libraries.
