The evening opens with Leopold Mozart’s Toy Symphony — a vivid example of musical wit, in which the traditional orchestral ensemble is joined by children’s noise instruments such as cuckoo calls, rattles, and small drums. The piece sets a tone of immediacy and playfulness that becomes a key to understanding the concert’s finale.

Ludwig van Beethoven’s 2nd Piano Concerto is distinguished by its transparent texture and classical balance, serving as a bridge from the galant style of the eighteenth century to the profound symphonic thinking of Beethoven’s later works.

The culmination of the evening is Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4. It is the most chamber and luminous of his symphonies, free of tragic pathos. The conceptual core of the work lies in the world of the song cycle Des Knaben Wunderhorn, and in particular in the poetic idealization of a child’s perception of the world. The symphony’s finale for soprano and orchestra presents a utopian vision of paradise seen through a child’s eyes, where biblical images of saints intertwine with everyday joys and an abundance of earthly pleasures. The work concludes by leaving the listener in a state of contemplation and profound calm.

Experience this multifaceted sound world through your inner child, and gently embrace it across the years — in the naïvety of first discovery, the brilliance of searching, and the light of musical revelation.
