Le Grand Tango | FueGo Orchestra

The concert program Le Grand Tango is a musical-dramaturgical performance dedicated to the work of Ástor Piazzolla, a composer who transformed the history of tango and turned it into a universal language of freedom, passion, and inner strength.

In his homeland, he is called The Great Ástor — the composer who revolutionized the concept of tango. Piazzolla combined the dance rhythms of this passionate genre with European Baroque polyphony and jazz improvisation. From this quintessence emerged the tango nuevo, or “new tango,” which made its way from the streets of Buenos Aires to concert halls around the world.

This year marks the 105th anniversary of the great master, whose name is synonymous with Tango. On this occasion, the Lviv Philharmonic invites you to meet Ástor Piazzolla on March 12 at the musical-dramaturgical performance Le Grand Tango performed by FueGo Orchestra.
