Programme:
This is a musical journey through the pages of Ukrainian cinema, where melodies that have become symbols for entire generations come alive in refined new instrumental arrangements. The programme brings together folk songs, legendary compositions from Ukrainian films, and music by outstanding Ukrainian composers whose works have long been part of Ukraine’s cultural memory.
The audience will hear music from the films The Lost Letter, Chervona Ruta, Shchedryk and The High Pass, alongside timeless works by Mykola Leontovych, Ihor Shamo, Myroslav Skoryk, Volodymyr Ivasiuk, Stepan Sabadash and Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, as well as Ukrainian folk songs in original arrangements by FUEGO ORCHESTRA.
The concert takes on a special significance from the fact that it will be held at the Lviv National Philharmonic, named after Myroslav Skoryk, the composer whose music holds a particularly prominent place in the evening’s programme.
“Ukrainian Music in Cinema” is not merely a concert, but an encounter with music that awakens memories, reveals the beauty of Ukrainian culture, and once again reminds us of its strength, depth and unique character.
