Dmytro Hubiak — bandura
Honored Artist of Ukraine, Associate Professor of Musicology and Methods of Musical Art at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University. Lecturer in Ternopil Solomiia Krushelnytska Musical College. Actor of Ternopil Taras Shevchenko Academic Drama Theater. Soloist and bandura player, composer, performer of kyiv and kharkiv type bandura, laureate of All-Ukrainian and international competitions, author of the idea and inventor of new bandura models.
Studies the problems of the history of bandura performance, the evolution of the instrument design and the problems of interpretation of musical works on the bandura.
Head of the bandura ensemble at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.
Recorded and released five solo audio CD’s.
Since 2003 he has been a member of the National Union of Kobzars of Ukraine.
In 2007 he was among the winners who got the Grant of the President of Ukraine for young artists in the competition of Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine.
In addition to his own audio albums, he participated in the recording of two records of the Lviv ensemble of ancient music “Acapella Leopolis” as a singer (bass) and bandura player.
2013 – recording of the audio disc “Kanty polski i ruski” together with the ensemble of ancient music “Camerata cracowia”, Krakow. Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, Poland, Luslawice. “DUX” company.
On December 11, 2009 by the decree of the President of Ukraine he was awarded Honored Artist of Ukraine.
Since November 2009 he has been working at Ternopil Academic Music and Drama Theater named after T.G. Shevchenko as an actor.
April 28, 2015 – awarded the academic title of an Associate Professor.
Today he works as an associate professor of musicology and methods of musical art of Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.
With the concerts he visited Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Germany, France, Belgium, Great Britain, the USA, People’s Republic of China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Reunion, Mauritius, Corsica.
He was repeatedly a member of the jury in All-Ukrainian and international art competitions.
