Maksym Semenyuk – viola (UA)

General information

Maksym was born in Lviv. His early music education he obtained at Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv Secondary Special Music Boarding School, graduating it in 1998. Later, after his studies at Stanislav Lyudkevych Lviv College of Music, he entered Mykola Lysenko Lviv State Music Academy, class of Professor Leontii Olenych, making his Master degree in 2005.

Maksym started his career as a musician in the orchestra of Maria Zankovetska National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater in Lviv, and later continued his professional development in the theatre and opera repertoire as a musician of the Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre orchestra, where he worked two seasons.

Maksym has a considerable chamber music experience as a member of music projects, mainly quartets, in Ukraine and abroad, namely in the Netherlands.

Since 2011 he has been a viola player in INSO-Lviv Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv Philharmonic Society (awarded the National status in 2018). As a member of the orchestra Maksym has taken part in numerous international festivals, including “VIRTUOSOS” International Festival of Music Arts, “CONTRASTS” International Festival of Contemporary Music, LvivMozArt International Festival, Leopolis Jazz Fest, Altmark Festspiele in Germany, concert tours in Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Egypt, as well as in the concerts and master classes featuring the principal viola players of the leading European orchestras, namely, Lars Anders Tomter, Aleksandr Zemtsov, Andriy Viytovych.
