The Lord of the Rings with the Academic Symphony Orchestra in Prague

December 14, to the 20th anniversary of the film saga “The Lord of the Rings” and the 130th anniversary of J.R.R. Tolkien, a large family symphony concert will take place in Prague.

The academic symphony orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic will perform the famous soundtracks of the film saga together with the Czech mixed children’s and adult choir. At the same time, the film will be shown on the big screen.

The music of “The Lord of the Rings” is considered one of the most complex and complete works in the field of film music. The orchestra will also perform the legendary music of composer Howard Shore at New York’s Radio City Hall in February 2023 as part of an extensive tour of the United States of America. But this December, Prague will be an important place where the world premiere of the first musical part of the trilogy will take place.

Shore’s music transforms Peter Jackson’s film into a large-scale symphonic work. So it will be a real immersion in the world of the favourite movie for many.
