Stepan Syvokhip – oboe

General information

Stepan Syvohip was born in Lviv in a family of musicians.  From 2011, he studied at the Lviv State Music Lyceum named after S. Krushelnytska in Professor Oksana Rapita’s piano class and Professor Levko Zakopets’s oboe class.  Participant in the master classes of professor Jerzy Kotychka (Poland) of the Krakow Academy of Music,  Swiss oboist Gungard Mattes, and German oboist Christoph Hartmann.  He performed as a soloist with many symphony orchestras in Ukraine.  He is a laureate of the International competitions of performers on wind instruments – “Trumpets of Bukovyna” (Chernivtsi, 2017, 1st prize),  the First International Competition named after V. Antoniv and M. Zakopets (Lviv, 2018, 1st prize),  Świętokrzyski Festiwal Instrumentów Dętych (Kielce, Poland, 2018, 1st prize), a competition named after Stepan Tomych (2021 – grand prix), an international competition called after Vyacheslav Starchenko (2021, 2023 – 1 prize).  As a soloist and artist of the orchestra, he successfully toured Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, and the USA.  He performed in many famous concert halls of the world, including Carnegie Hall New York,  Konzerthaus Berlin,  Konserthuset Stockholm,  Dresdner Philharmonie,  Hamburg Laeiszhalle,  Leipzig Gewandhaus,  Radio City Hall New York,  Copernicus Center Chicago,  Musikaliska Stockholm, and many others.
