“Fernabucco” Ensemble by Julia and Krzysztof Karpeti was created nine years ago as a viola da gamba duet. Likewise, Fernabucco takes part in the 3rd International Festival "Pizzicato e Cantabile" in Lviv. However, in their concert tours the married couple often invite other instrumentalists – the lute, harpsichord, drums, or chamber orchestra. “Fernabucco”, with their original program "Viola da gamba – a musical journey throughout Europe from the 16th to the 18th cc.", promote Viola da Gamba and the music of the composers of the Renaissance and the early Baroque era.
In Fernabucco interpretation the works of such composers as Diego Ortiz, Christoph Schaffrath, Simon Ives, Jean-Marie Leclair, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe and others enjoyed many positive press reviews at the Festivals of Ancient Music in Italy and Poland.
The name of the ensemble was inspired by a peculiar pun: fernambuk is a tree species from which Viola da gamba is made, fern is far and Nabucco is king of Babylon.
