The Four Seasons
Among Vivaldi’s 500 concertos, Le quattro stagioni (The Four Seasons) holds a special place. This is the first truly programmatic cycle in music history, accompanied by a poetic layer — twelve sonnets written by the composer himself. In this performance, the audience is guided through the year’s musical imagery by the authorized Ukrainian translation of the sonnets by Borys Kotyuk.
The orchestral transcription for violin and organ was created by Vitalii Pivnov — a leading figure of Lviv’s organ tradition and a master organ builder. Vivaldi’s music and poetic word will be complemented by live painting from artist Olha Kuts, who will interpret the cycle’s emotional and seasonal palette on canvas in real time.
