On July 9, at 18:00, a piano recital by Hennadiy Demianchuk will take place in the Lyudkevych Concert Hall of the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic.
This was reported in the TV story of the all-Ukrainian information channel “Espreso.TV”.
The performance will take place within the “Ukraine-2022. Muses Are Not Silent” Project, the aim of which is to support Ukrainian musicians during the russian military aggression. The concert of the famous pianist will unite the recognized masterpieces of classical music from Baroque to Romanticism.
The performer and his family are temporarily in Lviv, where they moved after the most difficult weeks of the occupation of Chernihiv. He tells that “Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, there was no talk of concerts. I was contacting my students, but I could only support them with words: in Chernihiv, there were alarms, sirens and bombings every 20 minutes. And every day. My family and I were at first in a private house, sitting in the cellar, but it was clear that if the missile hit, we would never go out. The Russian army was destroying the outskirts of Chernihiv and nearby villages. We heard the sounds of shooting constantly; it is still impossible to forget. Electricity, gas, and water were turned off in the city, and we stood in long queues to be given food and talked with people there. It turned out to be less scary than being at home. We spent the three most terrible weeks there.”
The program of the concert is here.
