Meeting the most important Christian holiday Easter, in times of war now is our reality. However, believing in “life victory over death”, justice over evil, and actually believing in the Ukrainian Victory, we greet everyone who celebrates this bright day of the Christ’s Resurrection. May your relatives be safe, and may goodness and grace reign in your souls. We thank our defenders for the opportunity to honour the resurrected Christ in the rear cities! Our Easter basket contains a selection of music from various groups of the Lviv National Philharmonic. Please enjoy and Happy Easter!
Let’s remember our soldiers and listen to “Requiem” by Antonin Dvořák. It was performed at the last concert before the full-scale invasion and dedicated to the memory of the Heavenly Hundred. Now these tragic events are forever engraved in our memory. Let’s honour the memory of the people who gave their lives for Ukraine!

Vasyl Barvinskyi was called a “composer without notes” because the Soviet regime had burnt out most of his scores in public. However, he’s the first Ukrainian composer whose notes have been published in Europe, the USA and Japan (Peters, Universal Edition). His “Six Miniatures on Ukrainian Themes” proved so popular that 1,000 copies were sold in just 4 months in Europe, which was a significant success for 1925. But in the Mordovia labour camp, where the famous composer was brutally imprisoned for 10 years, Vasyl Barvinskyi created a Quintet for two violins, viola, cello and piano – music full of expressive lyrics and respect for Ukrainian melodies.
