On 17 June, the INSO-Lviv Symphony Orchestra performed together with the outstanding Polish double bassist Krzysztof Firlus at a concert entitled “Fight – you will overcome! God helps you! For you is the truth, for you is the glory and the holy will!”
These words became a call to strong will and courage. They remind us that despite the obstacles, the struggle for truth is always worth our efforts. These words inspire us to fight for our values and ideals of justice every day. The audience had the opportunity to listen to fantastic pieces that conveyed the meanings inherent in Taras Shevchenko’s words and to find in music the strength to fight the evil that has been trying to destroy us for centuries.
Filled with magic and enchanting sounds, the concert on 24 June by our INSO-Lviv orchestra also transported visitors to the world of fantastic adventures and unusual transformations.
Together with the French master conductor Nicolas Chalvan, the orchestra revealed to the audience the secrets of the most famous fairy tale about Beauty and the Beast. A forgotten castle, spells and miraculous transformations – all this came to life in the music of Maurice Ravel.
The emotion of children’s joy was also especially evident in Gabriel Fauré’s suite-dedication, where every note is about unwavering loyalty to friendship and sincere love of life.
But the most brilliant notes of the evening were heard in the unsurpassed Serenade No. 1 by Johannes Brahms. It transported us to the world of boundless harmony, where every instrument of the orchestra revealed the beauty and power of love.
