April is a month when even nature offers a variety of experiences — from whimsical weather to vibrant blossoms all around. Just as colorful promise to be the musical evenings at the Philharmonic, with grand orchestral and exclusive chamber events, Easter-themed programs, educational children’s concerts, premieres and debuts, as well as the unveiling of a new organ!
We invite you to choose an evening to your taste and give your April a new sound.
Thursday, 03.04.2025 / 19:00. Perspectives
Two premiere concerts, an exquisite symphony, and a mysterious adagio — this is how April will begin for the Lviv Virtuosos Academic Chamber Orchestra and organist Olena Matseliukh, under the baton of guest conductor Yurii Skrypnyk. The inspiration for the choice of pieces was the planned presentation of a new digital organ from the Dutch brand Johannus.
Friday, 04.04.2025 / 19:00. Fedir Yakymenko in Barvinskyi’s Salon
Foyer of the Lviv National Philharmonic
Fedir Yakymenko has come to Barvinskyi’s salon. Two composers, so different yet united in their aspirations: to blend Ukrainian melodic heritage with Western European musical forms, to weave folk intonations into classical tradition.
Vasyl Barvinskyi and Fedir Yakymenko — outstanding figures of Ukrainian music who, despite life’s trials, preserved national identity in their works. These pieces will be performed by pianists Violyna Petrychenko, Oleksandr Oliinyk, and Rostyslav Fedyna.
Saturday, 05.04.2025 / 18:00. Spirit
In the silence of Lent, when the heart seeks truth and the soul yearns for cleansing, the symphonic-choral music of Ludwig van Beethoven becomes a guide from doubt and darkness to the light. The concert “Spirit” by the INSO-Lviv Symphony Orchestra is a spiritual journey leading from acceptance to the light of hope and the triumph of the human spirit.
Sunday, 06.04.2025 / 16:00. I Follow You, Christ!

Conductors. In Ukrainian is a renowned project of the Lviv National Philharmonic launched in 2020.
This project provides talented young musicians from all over Ukraine the opportunity to make a name for themselves on a global stage, with all events broadcast online. Ukrainian baton masters perform with one of the oldest and most esteemed orchestras in Ukraine — the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic Academic Symphony Orchestra. These artistic collaborations give rise to powerful symphonic programs that combine Ukrainian and European music. This time, the conductor will be Oksana Krotyk, with Polish violinist Bartłomiej Tełewiak as the evening’s soloist.
Sunday, 13.04.2025 / 11:30. Forest Music School. Instrumentology Class
Free admission for children under 3!
The Forest Music School is a special magical place where everyone can touch the enchanting world of music. That’s exactly where the famous sound-boy Dzen-Boom is hurrying to study, as he now lives on planet Earth and wants to expand his musical knowledge.
Just like in a real music school, there are special classes led by unique teachers and mentors. After “completing” each class, every student will receive a special mark, and most importantly — gain the skills and knowledge needed to graduate with honors and receive the “gold medal” of the school. Also, before each concert, starting at 11:00, young listeners can enjoy fun interactive activities from the TEMPO Center for Music Development.
Sunday, 13.04.2025 / 18:00. Pergolesi. Stabat Mater
This monumental piece has long been a staple in the Lviv National Philharmonic’s Holy Week repertoire. Holy Week for the Ukrainian people has not ended for over three years now. Here, music becomes the voice of grief over the losses of war — “The sorrowful Mother stood by the Cross, mourning the Death of her crucified Son…” Ukrainian muses hope that art can heal. Through its power, one can endure sorrow and find inner peace.
Thursday, 17.04.2025 / 19:00. Verdi. Requiem
In his Requiem, Verdi poured all his mastery into portraying the extremes of human emotion. “Dies Irae” delivers violence, “Tuba Mirum” — power and grandeur through eight trumpets. Joyful praise sounds in “Sanctus”, a brilliant double fugue. Meanwhile, “Agnus Dei” opens with a breathtaking unaccompanied duet for soprano and mezzo. Renowned American musician Benjamin Loeb will conduct the event in Lviv.
Sunday, 27.04.2025 / 11:30. The Adventures of Vesnyanka the Girl

The Adventures of Vesnyanka the Girl is a unique ballet by the famous Ukrainian composer Zhanna Kolodub, written especially for children!
In collaboration with the ballet school-theatre L.Stage, we present a special event — a children’s ballet. This magical and colorful show, in addition to elegant costumes, airy choreography, and beautiful music, holds many more surprises for the audience. No one tells a fairy tale better than children.
