We invite you to a unique musical evening dedicated to the 100th anniversary of a remarkable figure whose life and art bound together Lviv and Poland.

Andrzej Nikodemowicz — composer, pedagogue, and free spirit — was born in Lviv, where he spent much of his life. Despite the bans of the Soviet regime and forced emigration, his music became a symbol of spiritual freedom and left a profound imprint on the cultures of both nations.

In the 1990s and 2000s, Nikodemowicz often returned to his native city, where his works resonated at Lviv festivals and concerts, moving audiences deeply. This evening, his legacy will once again come alive: selected works by the composer will be performed, showcasing his vivid experimentation with instrument preparation, sonoristics, and timbral explorations. Alongside them, pieces by his students and followers will be heard — voices that shaped not only the soundscape of Lviv in the late 20th century but also influenced the very identity of the Contrasts festival.
