Lviv National Philharmonic - Polish tour of the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra begins

The orchestra is currently in Poland at the invitation of the Pomeranian Music Society “Akademia” from Szczecin, long-time friends of the Philharmonic, with whom many good projects have been implemented in the past. The rehearsals of the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra have been continuing for four days, and yesterday, 15 June, an open rehearsal was held for those who wanted to watch the artistic process and listen to the concert programme of the planned touring events. The orchestra’s first concert is scheduled for 17 June in Szczecin.

General Director Volodymyr Syvokhip spoke about the upcoming performance: “Now, together with the conductor Bohdan Boguszewski – we are together, I am also conducting – we have prepared a project called ‘Children and Women of Ukraine’. In Szczecin, as in many other cities in Poland, there are a lot of people who were displaced during the war – Ukrainian women and children. We know that Poland is very reliable and friendly country.

Therefore, a certain feature of this project is open rehearsals. Obviously, the conductor, soloists, and choir could not come to Lviv due to certain circumstances. So we all gathered together for 4 days in Lusławice, a village near Tarnów, famous for the fact that there is a family estate of Krzysztof Penderecki, and the famous Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Centre. It was here that we gathered for rehearsals, and the unsurpassed atmosphere and hospitality encouraged us to give yesterday’s open concert – for everyone who supports us, who is with us and with whom we are marching to Victory. No wonder that everyone listened to Myroslav Skoryk’s “Melody” standing, with tears in their eyes.”
