The principal conductor of the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra Theodore Kuchar, became the project’s mentor. From August 11 to 14, 2023, six active participants of the master class had the opportunity to perform with one of the oldest and most famous orchestras of Ukraine, improve their conducting skills, and also join the philharmonic gala concert, which will be the conclusion of the event.

General Director Volodymyr Syvokhip commented on this event:

“The special occasion gathered musicians from all over Ukraine. We happily congratulate the music community, and in particular our partners, on a landmark event that celebrates the high level of professional skill and creative potential of new generations. The revival and preservation of age-old traditions of Ukrainian art along with the latest is extremely valuable and necessary today.

The Philharmonic’s educational activities are a significant part of our priority tasks. After all, decent development for young artists is evidence of the nation’s maturity. With pride and respect, we address symphony conductors who have just started their professional career. You faced the urgent questions of self-realization, joining the cultural community, presenting the creativity of Ukrainians on the international arena, and the possibility of a driving influence on art. We hope that thanks to the master classes of Teodor Kuhar and the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic, you will establish yourself in valuable creative and human orientations.
