Dmytro Udovychenko – violin

General information

Dmytro Udovychenko was born in 1999 in Kharkiv (Ukraine). He has been studying music since he was 5 years old. At the age of 6, Dmytro has begun his studies at the Kharkiv Specialized Musical boarding school, where he currently follows a violin program under the supervision of Ludmila Varenina. Dmytro is award winner of the following international music competitions:

  • First Open Violin Competition moderated by People’s Artist Tatiana Grindenko as part of the XVth International Festival “Music Is Our Common Home”. First Prize
  • International Competition of Young Performers «Art of the XXI-st century» (Kyiv-Vorzel, April 2009). First Prize
  • VIIIth International M.G. Erdenko Violin Competition (2010). Second Prize
  • Xth International Competition «Accords of Khortytsa» (2010). First Prize
  • XVIIIth International Music Festival «Visiting Aivazovsky» (2011) Grand Prix.
  • The IIId Leonid Kogan Violin and cello Competition. (2016) Grand Prix.
  • The V International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists. (2017) Second Prize and EMCY Prize.

Dmytro performed with the following orchestras: «Virtuosos of Moscow» conducted by Vladimir Spivakov (Moscow), Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic Orchestra, Youth Symphonic Orchestra (Kharkiv), and many others orchestras of Ukraine, Germany, Lithuania.

In 2014 Dmytro was invited by Yury Bashmet to perform at the international festival Elba Isola Musicale D’Europa. In 2012, at the invitation of Vladimir Spivakov, Dmytro performed in the Grand Hall of the International Music House during the opening ceremony of the “Moscow Welcomes Friends” International Festival, accompanied by “Virtuosos of Moscow” (conducted by Vladimir Spivakov).

Dmytro has also recorded a number of performances at the National Recording House (Kyiv).

In addition, Dmytro participated in the master-classes of the following professors: Boris Garlitsky (Paris), Dmitry Sitkovetsky (London), Sergey Ostrovsky (Geneve- Neuchatel), Nataliya Boyarskaya (London), Olga Parkhomenko (Helsinki), etc.

In 2017, he took part in a range of festivals and master-classes in Kronberg Academy on the Academy invitation:

Dmytro is currently studying with professor Boris Garlitsky (Folkwang Universität der Künste, Essen, Germany).
