Eimi Wakui

School and Training

Eimi Wakui was born on September 14, 1992 in Tokyo, Japan.

At the age of 5, she started to study the violin and music at The Music School for Children attached to Toho Gakuen School of Music. She had been taught by Professor Rikako Yoneda since 1997 to 2008. And she studied in Toho Gakuen Music High School with Professor Isako Shinozaki since 2008 to 2011.

In 2011, she was accepted by Toho Gakuen College Music Department Soloist Diploma Course with special scholarship for Toho Gakuen School of Music. She studied the violin at the college with Professor Masafumi Hori and Professor Isako Shinozaki.

She graduated the college on March 2015, and currently she study at the University Mozarteum Salzburg from with Professor Pierre Amoyal.

She has been the study of the variety of music in her carrier from childhood up to the present, such as piano, ballet, singing, conducting, composition etc.

Competition and Award

She is winner of several national and international violin competitions and award such as 3rd prize in the 13th Japan Classical Music Competition, the Special prizes in the 60th and 61st All Japan Students’ Music Competition.

Recently International competition, she was Semi-finalists 10th International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition and won the Special Award (by Sibelius Family), the 3rd prize in the Concours International de Violon Tibor Varga Sion Valais, 1st prize in the Euro Asia Young International Competition.

Her leading concerts, recitals and Performance are such as the Charity Concert for Tsunami(Helsinki, Finland), 14th MUSIC FESTIVAL Argerich’s Meeting Point in Beppu(Japan), The School Festival Concert(Seoul, South Korea), Recital concert for Japan Industrial Association(Japan), 18th,19thMIYAZAKI International Music Festival, Chofu Music Festival(Japan), With Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne(Switzerland) Contemporary music concert(Japan), Violin Festa Tokyo (Japan) etc.
