Mykytka Artur – is a violinist, pedagogue, active figure and propagandist of chamber music in Lviv, professor, head of chamber music department, head of quartet concertmaster of “Academia” chamber orchestra. He is widely recognized by the audience and critics for his outstanding performance.
Arthur has been a member of Lviv chamber orchestra since 1965. He is not only the concertmaster, but also the head of the orchestra since 1992, providing the brilliant performance of the orchestra together with the artistic director (M.Skoryk) and the conductor (Ihor Pylatiuk). He is a prizewinner of many international contests and festivals in Ukraine and Europe, a creator of various interesting classical music projects and premieres of modern music, such as compositions of M.Skoryk, V.Kaminsky, O.Kryvolap, B.Frolyak, Y. Lanyuk and others. Also he is a member of all “Virtuosy” and “Kontrasty” festivals; he recorded numerous audio albums.
In 1995 A.Mykytka initiated the “Christmas music gift” concerts. He is the author of “Lviv Chamber Orchestra 1959-2000” monograph.
Arthur Mykytka has a vast experience of working with prominent modern musicians like Oistrakh, Sondetskis, Gornostayeva, Slobodyanyk, Lyubimov, Krysa, Kotorovych, Kremer, Bashmet, Spivakov, Monighetti, Yoffe, Danchovska, H’olskiy, Vaiman, Brusilovsky, Kravchenko, Edelman, Bochkova, Bloch, Baerten, Moscow Chamber Choir named by Minin and the entire pleiad of Lviv performers. He has raised a big number of musicians who dedicated themselves to chamber music and became the nominees of many international and Ukrainian contests.
Arthur Mykytka has received the titles of “People’s Artist of Ukraine” and “Honored for Culture of Poland”.
