Andriy Nakonechnyi – trumpet

General information

Andriy Nakonechnyy studied trumpet at the S. Krushelnytska Lviv Music School. In 1995-2000 he studied at the Lviv National Academy of Music and graduated in 2009 with Master’s degree. Andriy has worked as an orchestra musician at the S. Krushelnytska Lviv National Opera and Ballet Theatre since 1995 and worked as a soloist with the orchestras “Leopolis”, INSO, “Lviv Virtuosos”. Teacher at S. Lyudkevych Lviv Musical College since 2005. One of the founders and participant of the ensemble of brass wind instruments “Leo Brass Quintet” (Gran Prix winner of the All-Ukrainian contest of young performers for winds and percussion named after V. Starchenko in Rivne in 2007). Andriy plays piccolo trumpet, which he has repeatedly used to perform virtuoso trumpet parts in the pieces of J. S. Bach. He is also a leading specialist in making ancient instruments in Ukraine, such as zinken (cornetto), natural and baroque trumpet, and he plays these instruments as well. Andriy participates in various Baroque musical projects with well-known European performers (Edward Tarr, Johann Plietzsch, Tomasz Ślusarczyk). In 2015, thanks to the enthusiasm of Andriy Nakonechnyy, J. Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto was performed for the first time in Ukraine (Lviv Philharmonic) using the instrument for which it was in fact written – the keyed trumpet. Since 2016, he has also performed as a soloist at the House of Organ and Chamber Music.
