Христина Макар – сопрано

General information
Khrystyna Makar (lyrical soprano) was born in Lviv in a family of Galician intellectuals. She received her primary musical education at the school of arts in the piano class. She graduated from Lyudkevych LSMU with a degree in “solo singing” by senior lecturer Kryvotsyuk L. ,and received a bachelor’s degree. She continued her studies at the Lysenko LNMA. At the Department of Solo Singing, (class teacher Kryvotsyuk L.) She received a master’s degree with honors. During her studies she took part in and won prizes in all-Ukrainian competitions and festivals. Beginning in the fourth year of the college, she began her professional concert career, as a member of the Lysenko LNMA Opera Studio, and later worked as a soloist of the Honored Choir “Trembita”. She is a leading soloist of the Galician Academic Chamber Choir, where she continues her work, and also collaborates with the company K & K Philharmoniker (Austria) as a soloist.

Chamber music occupies an important place in her work, in particular the genre of Ukrainian romance, separate solo programs dedicated to T. Shevchenko and Lesya Ukrainka. The first performer of compositions by contemporary world composers, including Scott Brickman (United States), Jorge Luis Ferrari (Argentina), Dimas Artur da Silva (Brazil), Albert Pace (Malta), Claudio Raffi (Italy), Aikhiro Kano (Japan).As a soloist of the Lviv National Philharmonic, she took part in many concerts: Operafest-Tulchyn (Tulchyn) Classic Open Air Show (Khmelnytskyi). Also, she is co-working with the Lviv Organ Hall from 2020.

The strong timbre of the singer and the fascinating manner of performance make an unforgettable impression on the listeners, and the unique soprano of the singer allows her to include in her programs works of composers of different epochs and directions, to combine academic singing with pop and to cooperate with foreign singers, conductors, composers.
