Andrii Chop — viola

General information

Andrii Chop was born in 1976 in Brody, Lviv region, Ukraine. Received musical education at the Lviv College of Music (class prof. Dmytro Komonko), the National Music Academy of Ukraine (class prof. Serhii Kulakov)

Soloist of the Chamber Ensemble “Kyiv” of the National House of Organ and Chamber music. Principal viola of the Kyiv Chamber Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. Principal viola of the New era orchestra. Violist of the “Philharmonic de Natione”, Germany.
Violist of the “Würth philharmonic orchestra”, Germany.
Principal viola of the “Ukrainian Freedom orchestra”.

From 2003-2010 viola quartet “Collegium” .In a quartet received a number of prestigious awards:
The I prize at the International Competition Klassik auf der Strasse , Switzerland; finalist of the 30th International Competition Premio Vittorio Gui Italy, Florence; owner of two special prizes at the International String Quartet Competition in Bordeaux; Resident of International program ProQuartet , scholarship program Odyssey ; owned a special prize at the VIII International competition Premio Paolo Borciani (Italy; Fellow 32 and 33 of the International Summer Academy of Chamber Music in Lower Saxony (Germany, Frentsvegen) and the International Music Academy in g.Vilkrouz (France)
Concerts and internships under the direction of famous musicians: Stefan Metz (Orlando Quartet), Eberhard Felz (Germany), Hato Baerle (Germany), Miguel da Silva (Ysaye Quartet, France), Walter Levin (LaSalla Quartet, USA-Switzerland), Tim Vogler (Vogler Quartet), Radim Sedmidubskogo (Skampa Quartet, Czech Republic), Jürgen Kussmaul, Friedemann Reger (Germeniya), Vermeer Quartet (United States) – Shmuel Ashkenazi, Richard Young and Mark Johnson, Prazak Quartet.
Participation in concerts and master courses with the Fine Arts Quartet (USA) with the assistance of Antonio Stradivari. Member of the jury in the qualifying round of the 2nd International Competition Klassik auf der Strasse.
