Andriy Karpiak – flute

General information

Andriy was born in 1974. He studied in the specialized music school named by S. Krushelnytska, Lviv State Conservatory, and the National Music Academy of Ukraine. He is a prizewinner of a number of Soviet, Ukrainian, and international wind instrument performers’ contests. He is the first performer of many famous composers’ pieces. Andriy took part in many international music festivals and performed in Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Russia, and different countries in America. He recorded a number of albums including “Flute in XXth Century Music” (2004), “The Concert in the City of Lions” (2006), “Karpiak concert season (dedicated to the 20th anniversary of performing) (2011).

He works with opera, ballet, symphonic, and chamber music ensembles. In addition, Andriy is the organizer of the “Dopler-sextet” ensemble and the “Claster” group member.

Andriy Karpiak is the author of more than 50 science works, dedicated to the problems of performing and the history of flute art. He took part in various international science conferences, judged international contests, was a Ph.D. candidate, and, subsequently, received Ph.D. Besides his scientific work, Andriy is also the professor, docent, and head of the wind instruments department at Lviv National Music Academy named by Lysenko.
