Fernabucco

General information

The core of Fernabucco ensemble is a gamba duet, Julia Karpeta and Krzysztof Karpeta. These musicians perform together but also with various chamber ensembles or they perform solo. Their duet performance gave them 2nd place at the Intenational Competition of Early Music in Żory in 2012. The ensemble expands depending on their needs and they add a lute, harpsichord  and percussion instruments. Their repertoire includes 16th, 17th and 18th-century composers. Their authorial program „Viola da gamba – a mucical journay through 16th-17th Europe” makes it possible for them to popularize this instrument and the legacy of the composers from those times. The ensemble performed, among other places, at the Bach Festival in Świdnica, Non Sola Scripta in Wrocław and Settembre in Musica in Italy. Fernabucco’s repertoire has works of such composers as : Diego Ortiz, Christoph Schaffrath, Simon Ives, Jean-Marie Leclair, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe.
