General information

Iryna Mazur is a choreographer, stage director, director of the modern ballet “Life”, general director of the art center “Lion’s Cup”, People’s Artist of Ukraine (2017).

In 1986, after five years of working as dancers in Manuela Schwartz’s jazz ballet in Germany, Iryna and her husband, director Stefan Mazur, created the show ballet “Life” in Lviv. Together with the ballet, Iryna has traveled to more than 50 countries. Later, Stefan Adamovych got involved in the construction business and retired from art, and his son Volodymyr began performing as a soloist in the Life Ballet.

She studied to be a choreographer in Lviv and a director at the Rivne State Institute of Culture.

In 2004, Ruslana won the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with her performance “Wild Dances” choreographed by Iryna Mazur and performed by the Zhyttia Ballet. At the same time, she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.

In 2005, during the Kyiv Eurovision Song Contest, the ballet presented the choreographic suite “Memories of the Bonfire”. The ballet’s longest tour (30 concerts in 20 days) was in the UK. The most massive performance was in Seoul at the Chamshil Olympic Stadium in the presence of 100,000 spectators (September 2009).

In 2017, Iryna Volodymyrivna was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine.
