Iryna Onyshko – cello (UA)

General information

Iryna was born in Lviv into a family of lawyers. She started her musical education at the Solomiya Kryshelnytska Lviv Secondary Special Music Boarding School and during her study years she became a winner of numerous international competitions (class of professor Hanna Mentsynska).

In 2001 – 2006 she studied at Mykola Lysenko Lviv Music Academy in the class of Professor Yevhen Shpitser, and later – at the class of Professor Yuri Laniuk. In 2006 she made her Master degree at the Academy.

In 2004 Iryna took part in the contemporary chamber music master classes led by “Recherche” Chamber Ensemble (Freiburg, Germany).

In 2005 she took part in the project “Witold Lutosławski International Orchestra” (Warsaw, Poland).

In 2002 Iryna worked in «K&K Philharmoniker «Da Capo» symphony orchestra.

In 2004-2009 she worked in “INSO-Lviv” symphony orchestra.

In 2007-2012 Iryna held a position of a principal cello in “Lviv Virtuosos” Chamber Orchestra of Lviv Regional Philharmonic Society.

Iryna has a significant chamber music experience, namely, as a member of quartet and trio she has set on numerous projects in Ukraine and abroad.

Since 2017 she has been holding a position of a principal cello in “INSO-Lviv” Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic Society.
