Kateryna Shalaiska – violin

General information

A young violinist from Lviv, whose repertoire is full of masterpieces of world music, including popular works by Ukrainian composers. The main goal of her concert activities is the promotion and distribution of Ukrainian music.

She received her primary musical education at the Lviv Secondary Specialized School in the violin class of teacher Olesya Mentsinska. She continued to improve her professional abilities, having obtained a master’s degree, and later as an assistant trainee at the LNMA named after Lysenko in the violin class of the professor, People’s Artist of Ukraine Lidiia Shutko.

She took part in the master classes of famous violinists: Oleh Kaskiv (Switzerland-Ukraine), George Glavichka (Belgium-Britain), Nataliya Reitel (Germany-Ukraine), and chamber master classes of the Gryphon Trio (Canada).

Kateryna is a laureate and graduate of international and all-Ukrainian competitions, including the III All-Ukrainian Violin Competition (Lviv), the International Violin Competition named after M. Skoryk (Lviv), the Povzun Competition of chamber ensembles (Odesa), Amadeus International Competition (Kharkiv).

In addition to solo concerts, he actively performs as a member of various chamber ensembles in Ukraine and abroad. In particular, since 2019, he has been leading the young Lviv string ensemble “Lviv Solo” as a concertmaster.

Since 2021, she has been an artist of the academic chamber orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic named after M. Skoryk “Virtuosos of Lviv”.
