Mark Vanyan – violist

General information

Mark Vanyan – baroque violist, resident in Poland, of Ukrainian origin. He has participated many times different music courses and various projects, orchestral and chamber. He has given concerts on international music stages since middle school. After completing his bachelor studies in Poland, wanting to broaden his musical horizons, he went to Barcelona, where he was admitted to the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya and had a pleasure to studied with Cuarteto Casals. At that time, he also had the honor of working with outstanding musicians and at that time he had his first contact with historical performance. After 2 years of study in Barcelona, he returned to Poland, where he completed his master’s degree in modern viola in the class of renowned pedagogue and chamber musician Piotr Reichert. After his master’s degree, Mark decided to develop in the Historical Performance direction, a passion for which was born earlier. For this purpose, he began studying Baroque viola in the class of Mikołaj Zgółka.  Currently Mark is an active, touring artist involved  in the historical style of performance. He is playing with the best polish baroque groups, inter alia Pohlnische Capelle or Wrocław Baroque Orchestra. He is also the founder of a historical quartet named Intestinum String Quartet, with which he actively performs.
