Oksana Hretchyn – violin

General information

The violinist Oksana Hretchyn received both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the Lviv National Academy of Music while later studying at the International Bruckner Academy in Austria. Performing actively as soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, she has served as the guest concertmaster of orchestras including the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine (in 2023, during tours to the USA and Poland) in addition to her position as a member of the orchestra of the Lviv National Opera. During the past two seasons she has performed actively as a soloist with orchestras in Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, the USA and Australia, in concertos, solo compositions and concertante works by composers including Brahms, Corigliano, Dvořák, Mozart, Pleyel, Karl Stamitz and Josef Suk. Highlights of the 2024-25 season include concerto appearances in Costa Rica, Australia and a tour of the United Kingdom, including performances in London and Birmingham of the Brahms Double Concerto with the distinguished Czech cellist, Jiři Barta.

In her free time, Oksana Hretchyn extends her artistic talents in additional art forms, most successfully as a painter. Her works, in the technical style known as pointalism, which originated as no more than a hobby have, in the past three years, appeared in exhibitions and auctions not only in Ukraine but throughout Europe and the USA. Her works today appear in private collections in Austria, England, Germany, Ireland, Poland and the USA. Most recently, in April 2024, took place the opening of the first personal exhibit of her paintings, at the Ukrainian National Museum and Archives in Cleveland, Ohio.
