Leading Ukrainian organist Olena Matselyukh is a soloist at the Lviv National Philharmonic, Rivne Philharmonic, as well as the House of Organ and Chamber Music in Lviv. She performs with her concert programs throughout Ukraine and is constantly touring in Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark and USA. Since 2014, Olena Matseliukh combines her performing practice with research work at the Lviv Museum of the History of Religion as a senior researcher at the Music and Education Department.
As one of the best interpreters of JS Bach’s organ creativity in Eastern Europe, Olena Matselyuk has been opening Bach Festivals in Brno (Czech Republic) and Wroclaw for several years. In Poland, Olena Matselyukh greets her admirers of her talent and several other festivals – in particular, on “Music in Old Krakow”, “Pax et Bonum“ (Wroclaw, 2017, 2018), XXIX. International Music Festival Stalowa Wola (2019), “Moniuszko and his times – Understanding Independent”, XXIII. Festiwal Lublin (2019).
The proven long-term and diverse creative performances of organist Olena Matsejukh is recorded on her solo CDs “Benedictus” (“Blessed”), “Amazing Grace”, CDs by Bohdan Kotyuk “Reflections”, “Mood and Spirits” & “Way to Heaven”, also in collaboration with the performer on the pan flute instrumentalist Ihor Matselyukh CD “Syrinx”. Olena Matselyuk is also known as a scientist. Her studies in the field of organ art are systematically published in Ukrainian and foreign almanacs, musical science collections and magazines. As a doctoral student of the oldest in the Czech Republic Moravian Palacký University Olomouc Olena Matselyuk prepares to defend her doctoral dissertation on the topic “Sacred and profane in the organ creativity of the composers of Ukraine and the Czech Republic”.
Olena Matselyukh – artistic director of the VI. and VII. International Festivals of Organ Music “Diapazon”, which with great success were held at the Lviv House of Organ and Chamber Music in October 2016 and July 2017. In the Lviv Philharmonic, she is the founder and director of the International Summer Festival “Pizzicato e cantabile”, as well as the Winter International Bach Festival “Bach contemporary”. From 2018 Olena Matselyukh is a producer and co-organizer of the International Festivals of Organ Music in Rivne “Musica Viva Organum”, in Volyn Philharmonic Organ music festival «Lucesk Organum», “Gold Organ of Church Music” in Zolochiv and Chernivtsi – which will continue this year.
