Ostap Popovych – trumpet (Ukraine)

General information

Ostap’s music education has taken a bright start in Krushelnyts’ka Lviv Music School (the class of 2005) and Lysenko National Music Academy (the class of 2010) under the careful governance of the prominent music professionals like V. O. Shvets, I. S. Gyshko and P. V. Vakaliuk; and continued with acquiring a master’s degree in Bydgoszcz Music Academy (Poland, 2014); the instrumental department, majoring in Early Music, the class of Tomasz Slusarchyk.

His strive for perfection and studies has led to taking numerous master-classes in different cities in Poland and Ukraine and has helped to achieve a significant performing level, acknowledged by the international community with numerous nominations of the international contests. To name a few, Dmytro has won the Grand Prix nominations in the following contests: The Kyiv-Vorzel International Wind Instruments Contest (2003), the I International Contest of young wind instrument players named by M.Starovetsky (Chernivtsi, 2004), the IX International Wind Instrument Contest (Brno, Chekh Republic, 2013) and many others.

In 2005-2018 Dmytro has worked as a soloist and an artist of the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonic in Wałbrzych (Poland), Sinfonia Iuventus Polish orchestra (Warsaw, Poland), Symphonia Philharmonic Orchestra (Poznan’,Poland), Symphonia Philharmonic Orchestra (Olsztyn, Poland), the Warsaw National Opera Symphony orchestra and the Warsaw Chamber Opera,

Throughout his career, Dmytro has worked with many more great music ensembles and orchestras, including Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Polska Orkiestra Radiowa, Łódzka Filharmonia, Filharmonia w Szczecinie, NFM Orkiestra Leopoldinum, Orkiestra AUKSO, Filharmonia w Lublinie, Cappela Gedanensis, Filharmonia w Jeleniej Górzę and the Broadway Soma Orchestra..
