Sebastian Perłowski – conductor (PL)

General information

Sebastian Perłowski graduated with honours from the departments of Opera and Symphonic Conducting and Composition in the Academy of Music in Katowice. He furthered his studies at the Jarvie Academy under the tutelage of Jorma Panula, Jin Wang, Adrian Gnam and Yuri Simonov.

He won many international competitions for conductors and composers. He was also nominated by music critics, journalists and the public for the award of “Best Conductor of the Krakow Opera last five years”, the Culture’s Personality 2017 and for one of the most prestigious awards – the “Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award”.

Perłowski has guest-conducted many orchestras in Poland and beyond, including the Sinfonia Varsovia, Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also worked with renowned soloists Julius Berger and Jose Cura. He has recorded for the ECM, DUX and Kameny labels.

He directs composition in the Music Academy in Katowice and is Vice Artistic Director at the Poznań Opera House.
