Serhiy Khorovets is a young and full of initiatives Ukrainian conductor.
He was born in 1980 in Rivne region, Ukraine.
He is a graduate of P. Chaykovskyy National Musical Academy in Kyiv (2008) where he studied opera and symphonic conducting under the supervision of prof. A. Vlasenko.
He completed his artistic training at the Warsaw Musical University under the supervision of prof. M. Pijarowski (2014).
He was a participant of «Gaude Polonia» programme, which was sponsored by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in Poland (2013).
He took part in many festivals in Ukraine and abroad (Lviv, Rivne, Drohobych, Zhytomyr, Kherson, Sumy (Ukraine), Dolny Kubin (Slovakia), Lublin (Poland).
For two years (2011-2013) he has been the main conductor of the Rivne philharmonic orchestra (Ukraine) and also cooperated with the orchestras of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Białystok (Poland), Slovak Sinfonietta (Slovakia).
He worked with many famous soloists, for instance with K.-A. Kulka, Olga and Nataliya Pasichnyk, Y. Ormeny, V.Neselovsky.
From 2012 he plays as an accordionist in duet with a famous Ukrainian violinist Lidiya Futorska. Their key task is to popularize Ukrainian classical music.
He often conducts the premieres of modern Ukrainian composers. In this direction he collaborates with the ensemble of modern music «ConstantY» (Lviv).
He initiated and conducted the project «The crossroads of Galician cultures» which was realized in Rivne and Lutsk (Ukraine) in collaboration with the General Consulate of Poland in Lutsk (Ukraine).
At the moment he is an guest conductor of the Academic symphonic orchestra of Lviv Philharmonic.
