Volodymyr Zatsikha – violin

General information

Volodymyr Zatsikha was born on June 6, 2002 in Lviv. In 2008-2019 he studied at the Lviv Secondary Specialized Music Boarding School named after S. Krushelnytska (now: Lviv State Music Lyceum named after S. Krushelnytska) in the class of Myroslav Sora. 

In 2019, he began his studies at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy in the class of Professor Ihor Pyliatyuk. 

He is the winner of many international and national competitions: 

– 2012р. XVI International Competition named after B. Varhal “Talents for Europe” (first prize); 

– 2013 – XIII International Festival-Competition “Chords of Khortytsia” (first prize); 

– 2017 – I International Competition of Young Violinists, Violists and Cellists “Lviv Virtuoso” (Diploma winner); 

– 2017 – III All-Ukrainian Violin Competition (III prize); 

– 2017 International Festival-Competition “Musical Fireworks” (first prize); 

– 2018 LX Kocian violin competition (IV prize); 

– 2018 Myroslav Skoryk International Violin Competition (III prize); 

– 2021р. I B. Kotorovych International Festival-Competition “Maestro-fest” (II prize). 

He is twice a Laureate (2020, 2021) of the Mykola Kolessa Regional Prize and the Oleh Krysa Foundation (2022). In 2023, he became a scholarship holder of the Wagner Society. 

He has successfully performed as a soloist on the stage of the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy accompanied by the Kyiv Soloists Orchestra, in concert halls in Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Lutsk, Dolny Kubin (Slovakia), Sianok (Poland), and Hanover (Germany).
