On August 25, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Lviv National Philharmonic conducted by Volodymyr Syvokhip performed at the Mozartiana International Festival, which is being held for the 18th time in the Polish city of Gdansk.
This festival is the only one in Poland that presents the music of the outstanding Austrian composer, the genius of classicism, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to such an extent. The program of the orchestra, which will be performed on August 25, features four interludes from music to Tamos, King of Egypt, a play by Tobias Philipp, Baron von Goebler, for which Mozart wrote music between 1773 and 1780.
The soloist of the evening was Stepan Syvokhip. He performed the C Major Concerto with the orchestra.
The young oboist commented on tonight’s performance: “It’s really a great pleasure for me to play here tonight, with my favorite orchestra, my native orchestra. Mozart’s Oboe Concerto, in my opinion, is the most difficult concerto – on a par with a solo work by Richard Strauss, so it’s really cool that today I have the opportunity to demonstrate myself, my talent, my skills and play this concerto.
