On August 22, the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic honored the bright memory of the outstanding Ukrainian, composer, musicologist and pianist Oleksandr Kozarenko, who passed away this March. He would have turned 60 on August 24. On August 22, 2023, the presentation of the non-fiction publication “Oleksandr Kozarenko: The Unread Score of Life… Memories of the Artist” took place (the concept of the publication, arrangement and editing by Doctor of Art History, Professor Hanna Karas; the idea of publication and arrangement by Roman Dzundza, Doctor of Philosophy. Ivano-Frankivsk: Foliant, 2023). In addition to the presentation, the event will include two more components: an exhibition of photo portraits and a concert part, where Kozarenko’s works were be performed by Iryna Kliuchkovska and Maryana Samotos.
As the general director Volodymyr Sivohip noted, “For all of us, he was both a close person and inaccessible, and at the same time, he was a bright artist. The height of this person’s flight was extraordinary.” For the book, Volodymyr Sivohip wrote an article-memoir called “Interrupted flight of a comet over Lviv” about the beginning of the artist’s journey in Lviv. You can already read about it in this publication. He congratulated the creators of the publication with its truly European style and thanked them for this work.
