Концертний зал Людкевича

150–350

Program

A sample from the golden fund of Ukrainian symphonic music of the 20th century, in addition to this, the first concert in the alphabet of guitar treasures of the world, and also a legendary piano masterpiece from the youth of the Polish genius: this is how the organizers planned the third concert from the festival wealth of “Virtuosos”.

Inspired by the spring gardens of the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, which was built back in the 16th century, the guitar concert that brought Joaquin Rodrigo world recognition as the main Spanish composer of the 20th century and an ardent revolutionary of the guitar instrument will be played. The author sought to distance the listener from earthly concerns and show the deep beauty of sounds in the heart of nature, to give a feeling of true passion for its turbulent nature. The guide to this world will be the world-famous Spanish guitarist Rafael Serrallet, who is able to touch the hearts of an enchanted audience with just one sound.

And the Piano Concerto of Frédéric Chopin completed even before his 20th birthday, solves the task of the highest artistic flight: it captivates from the first note. As the author himself wrote in a letter to a friend, “The concert is designed to convey the impression that occurs when the eye rests on a favorite landscape that evokes beautiful memories in the soul – for example, about a wonderful moonlit spring night.” The concert soloist Maria Klymenko and the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Serhii Horovets will bring the idea to life.

And Viktor Kosenko’s overture will tell about the heroic page of Ukrainian history, which we have no right to forget even for a moment. Every moment of our multifaceted life will be revealed in new colors during the event, and it will remind us that music exists for this diversity.
