Duo Sonoro

Strawberries and sonata, Gamma Boötis and meditation on strings. What do berries, musical genre, constellation and music have in common? The program of the violin and piano duet “Duo Sonoro” will tell more about it.

The event will be opened by the composition of the genius of the 20th century, Borys Liatoshynskyi, proof of a turning point in the development of the Ukrainian chamber sonata, a forerunner of modernism in the work of the young artist. Harmonious elegances, complex thematic interweaving, existential and conflicting pictures of images will form the artistic virtue characteristic of the Master.

The work of a contemporary Bohdan Sehin, “Gamma Boötis”, is dedicated to his wife Roksolana. The poetic annotation says:

The light travels through the infinity of the Universe to continue its path in the pupils of our eyes. It reaches hidden, unknown to even ourselves, spaces of our substance. The light of the star never stops. It never fades out.

By the way, the star from this constellation is called Segin. Will this coincidence be reflected in the music?

In the music of Oleksii Shmurak, Vitalii Vyshynskyi, and Ihor Zavhorodnii, get ready to dive into the unknown, cosmically innovative. However, do not forget: contemporary art can not only radical experiment, but also a simple look into the past: it can be nostalgic, sometimes sincerely falling into its depths. Gathering full lungs, “entering” the seemingly non-existent: this is how Zoltan Almashi’s sensitive “song” sounds. Like a distant memory of a conversation between a violin and a piano, in the broad confessional lines of each instrument, a real miracle of sonoro will take place.
