Program

The X International Music Festival “Music in Old Lviv”, held from August 15 to 31, will be a pleasant last chord of the Lviv artistic summer.

The main concept of this year’s, already tenth in a row, International Festival “Music in Old Lviv” within the framework of partnership with the “Music in Old Krakow” festival is to present Lviv as a city with a special architectural and historical landscape, monuments of European culture and history, traditions, interactive ideas and creative realities.

The organizer of the festival during these years has always been the Lviv National Philharmonic, the director is Serhii Burko.

This year, guests can expect seven unique events, each of which will demonstrate the multidimensionality, diversity and uniqueness of the city’s musical culture! These are organ events, concerts of spiritual, ancient music and well-known and beloved classical compositions performed by well-known groups and soloists uniquely.

A storm of feelings, brightness of impressions, splendour and majesty – each piece of the program will immerse us in the era of magnificent palaces and temples, exquisite royal receptions and sophisticated musical evenings.

On the eve of the Independence Day of our country, we are pleased to congratulate Ukraine’s long-term partner — our friendly neighbour Poland, and thank Poland for its support! In particular, we express our gratitude to our friendly musicians and organizations, which in every way join in supporting the Ukrainian artistic rear. Therefore, the program of this event aims to celebrate key Ukrainian and Polish authors from the Baroque period to the present day. The most famous works of Berezovskyi, Bortnianskyi, Gorecki, Lutoslawski, Kaminskyi, Stankovych, Almashi and Kiliar will be heard in the Jesuit church in Kraków.
