Programme
Part I
Performance of Eine kleine Nachtmusik, the Horn Concertos Nos. 3 and 4, and Divertimento No. 3 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, featuring soloist Felix Klieser (Germany), world-renowned for his extraordinary artistry and deeply inspiring life journey.
Part II
World premiere of The Music of Senses — a work for soloists, choir, and orchestra by composer Yevhen Petrychenko, set to texts by Oleksandr Kozynets (2025). This composition addresses the experiences of children with long-term or temporary support needs, highlighting themes of inclusion, care, and community engagement.
INSO-Lviv Symphony Orchestra invites you to The Music of Senses — a concert about trust, respect, and the ability to see the world more broadly, beyond borders and limitations. The project brings together artists from Ukraine, Germany, and Poland, where alongside professional musicians, the voices of children from Kyiv Children’s Music School No. 39 will be heard.
One of the soloists is Felix Klieser, the internationally acclaimed German horn player who performs with his feet, having been born without arms. In recent seasons, he has debuted at the Ravenna Festival, the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall (London), and appeared at Europe’s most prestigious venues: the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Berliner and Kölner Philharmonie, and Wiener Konzerthaus.
Stories like his inspire not through heroism, but through the everyday choice not to give up. His solos will be heard in Mozart’s Horn Concertos Nos. 3 and 4 — works of brightness, wit, and profound vitality. This part also features Eine kleine Nachtmusik and Divertimento No. 3 — music that for over two centuries has embodied chamber lightness and joy.
The second part opens the door to new music, presenting for the first time The Music of Senses by Yevhen Petrychenko, to texts by Oleksandr Kozynets. This composition gives voice — through choir, orchestra, and soloists — to children whose stories are often overlooked: children who need support, warmth, and the attention of their community. Within it are pain, tenderness, and courage — for acceptance and empathy, too, have their own melody.
Together, INSO-Lviv and the Liatoshynskyi Capella under the baton of Polish conductor Vincent Kozlovski will create a unique atmosphere where music is not only heard but deeply felt. For this concert is not only about virtuosity, but also about wonder, mutual support, and the shared creation of a brighter future — a future accessible to all.
The project is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and the Goethe-Institut in Ukraine.
