Program

One of the most outstanding composers of modern Ukraine, the author of outstanding works Myroslav Skoryk (1938–2020) was also a teacher, from whose school came a whole galaxy of the next generations’ artists. The concert program of the evening will consist of works by Hanna Havrylets, Mykhailo Shved, Bohdan Sehin, and Oleksandr Kozarenko. Such a collection of composers is significant also due to the fact that the Lviv National Philharmonic is named after Myroslav Skoryk, and this year’s Contrasts festival thoroughly refers to Ukrainian art themes. Works of different years, genres and moods will be heard this evening: from the end of the XX century to the modern times, religious, folk song arrangements… One thing will remain fundamental — the synthesis of the traditional heritage and its new perception. The communicative openness and sacredness of music origins came into being as a result of this combination.
