In the program music from The Lord of the Rings

On November 30, the INSO-Lviv Symphony Orchestra and conductor Raymond Janssen invite audiences into the magical world of film music that will come alive on the stage of the Lviv National Philharmonic. It will be a night when Lviv transforms, for a moment, into part of Middle-earth. Mystical themes will transport listeners into a realm of fantasy and wonder — a world where the boundaries between myth and reality fade away.

The most iconic soundtracks by Hollywood composer Howard Shore from The Lord of the Rings trilogy will unfold before the audience like pages of The Great Book of the Western Kingdoms. Each piece resounds with the clang of steel and the shimmer of stars, the wind over Rohan’s plains, the golden light of Rivendell, the brave breath of the Shire, and the shadowed ravines of Mordor. This music is like an ancient script — recognizable from the very first notes.

Majestic and breathtaking themes will be performed by INSO-Lviv under the baton of Raymond Janssen, a Dutch maestro renowned for his mastery of large symphonic projects — as if he himself held the One Ring of musical power. His conducting feels like a journey through epochs and enchanted lands — precise, wise, radiant, and full of light. Under his direction, the orchestra transforms the soundtrack into a living legend unfolding before the audience’s eyes.

This concert will be especially meaningful — it marks INSO-Lviv’s final performance in Lviv in 2025. The very next day, the orchestra embarks on a grand European tour with Raymond Janssen, performing on the renowned stages of Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Haarlem, The Hague, and many other cities.

Join us to be the first to experience the magnificent program “The Lord of the Rings” — music that speaks the timeless language of friendship, courage, and the triumph of light — before it captivates thousands of listeners across Europe.
