Right after a successful performance at the International Music Festival in Szczecin, the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra also performed at the large-scale Opening Ceremony of the Third European Games 2023. On 21 June, the concert took place in the Polish city of Krakow at the Henryk Reiman City Stadium, which gathered 30 thousand spectators.

Musicians of the Lviv Philharmonic performed the European Games Anthem specially created for the event to a standing ovation. Maestro Sebastian Perlovsky conducted the performance.

NB: 7,000 athletes from 48 countries are taking part in this year’s competition. The Ukrainian national team is represented by 292 athletes. Opening ceremonies of major sporting events such as the Olympic Games or the World Cup are the most popular programmes around the world. It is an artistic spectacle of the highest level, full of music, dancing, and choreography with the participation of top collectives.

The Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra continues its series of tours abroad: Szczecin, Kraków, and next up on 23 June – Lublin with a unique programme of works by Mahler and Sibelius and the premiere of the orchestral suite “Ferns Bloom” by Yevhen Stankovych.
