Khrystyna Mykhailychenko – piano

General information

Khrystyna or Tina, as she is approached by friends and relatives, was born in Crimea, Simferopol, on July 28, 2005. At the age of 5, she began to play music. At the end of her first school year, she won her first music competition.

In April 2014, the family moved to Kyiv and Khrystyna started to study in Kyiv Secondary Specialized Music School named after Lysenko in the class of Professor Natalia Tolpygo. Today she is a winner of First Prizes and Grand Prix at numerous International music competitions (Ukraine, Belgium, and the Netherlands).

Khrystyna has an interesting geography of performances, regardless of her young age. She has played concerts in New York, Washington at the World Bank, performed at the leading stages and Music Academies of Brussels, Paris, Antwerp, Vienna, Bruges, Istanbul, in Germany and the Netherlands, in the halls of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kyiv and Lviv, as well as Philharmonic Halls of Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Khmelnitsky, and Dnipro.

Her repertoire comprises more than 35 performances with Symphony and Chamber orchestras. Three times she was in the top 10 children, according to WoMo – the brightest teenagers of the year, whose achievements were recognized (2015-2017). She is a participant of numerous social projects in Ukraine, as well as charity performances. Since spring 2016 she has been regularly participating in master classes of Professor Oleksiy Grynyuk (United Kingdom). Studied at the Music Academies of Germany (ISAM) and Belgium (summer 2016).

In the summer season 2017, she performed with concerts at the International Festival in Switzerland (“ArtDialog”) and Lviv (“LvivMozArt”), and was selected and received an invitation to a two-week training and performances in Belgium at the International Chamber Music Festival “Musica Mundi”.

During 2017-2018 summer seasons she took courses at the International Summer Music Academy in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz (Kyiv) in the class of Professor O. Grynyuk, and was invited for the second time to the 2nd International LvivMotArt Festival as a soloist, where she performed Mozart’s Concerto with orchestra.

Documentary “Khrystyna. Crimean Solo” won the All-Ukrainian Contest” Reporters of Hope in Ukraine “in the Culture category“(October 2017, authors – “CrimeaRealia”). Khrystyna has recorded three licensed audio CDs (2016, 2017, 2018). 2018-2019 academic years, including the summer season, were marked by Khrystyna’s intensive concert activities. She plays solo concerts and performs with symphony orchestras (Khmelnytsky Philharmonic Hall, Lviv Organ Hall, Istanbul Turkey, BZZ Kyiv, Tchaikovsky Music Academy in Kyiv, Uvarov House in Vorzel). Khrystyna said that the summer of 2019 was “the best season of all”.

The 2019 spring and summer season was marked by a creative series of master classes with Professor Alexei Grynyuk (Germany, Belgium, Ukraine). In July Tina was awarded with the diploma on completion of a 2-week training course within the International Festival of Chamber Music “Musica Mundi-2019” (Belgium, Waterloo).

In August she played three concerts at the 69th International Young Performers Festival (Bayreuth, Germany), which featured programs: Solo Concert, Soloist with Orchestra Concert, and concert by the Chamber Ensemble (piano part). The concerts were a great success. Khrystyna earned a very generous and positive critical acclaim for her solo performance.

During the academic year, Khrystyna has an individual attendance at school, as well as home-schooling with a range of talented teachers of foreign languages, natural sciences, general and music disciplines. She plays sports, enjoys pastime with her younger sister and older brother, goes to Opera, Philharmonic, and cinema, she goes cycling, meets with friends, travels, builds relationships, experiences moments of loneliness… and of course, devotes time to her favorite grand piano.
