Description

On February 2, the Lviv Philharmonic hosted the “Evening of Premieres,” an exceptional event for which the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra led by conductor Volodymyr Syvokhip and soloists performed: Iwona Hlinka (flute, Poland) and Volodymyr Veretelnyk (marimba, Ukraine) performed works by composers from Japan, Greece, Italy, and the United States.

The orchestra and soloists prepared a surprise – miniatures were performed on stage, and composers do not often use orchestral miniatures: not everyone is able to express their thoughts so concisely. The concert moderator Polina Kordovska skillfully guided the audience through the history and idea of each of the pieces.

“Such diversity is a great proof that contemporary music is very multifaceted and everyone can find a sound to their liking,” the Philharmonic noted.
